In 1991, female singer/songwriter Captain Charlie took her first breath. Detroit was synonymous with home for most of her childhood, but she turned fourteen, picked up a guitar, and found that the world is much bigger than she once perceived. While traveling through Oklahoma, Alabama, Washington, Nevada, and California, she has made a point to be open-minded to new sounds and styles of expression, often allowing local music to have influence on her own. She has been described as having a "Fantastic voice and a really good vibe, above average song-writing and [a] wonderful attitude."
Currently, Captain Charlie is working to get established as a musician and build solid connections in the industry. To gain exposure, she has been recording songs and videos, as well as searching for new talent opportunities daily. With the right connections, she feels her music can help her to impact the world and has made it her mission to do just that.
Music became Captain Charlie's main focus when she left home at age seventeen. She started with cafe shows and after several standing ovations, has worked her way into a few larger venues. Beginning her travels in hopes of seeing all of the United States, she quickly realized that the whole world was not out of reach. For Captain Charlie, the music she writes is a gateway to a better perspective. She feels that adverse situations, when looked at in the right light, are simple to overcome.
Captain Charlie hopes to spread her music and her mindset, and to encourage every neighbor, every friend, every mother, father, and child to understand something better exists and it is never out of the reach of determined hands.
